The Physicians' Alliance against euthanasia is organizing a conference entitled
“Medical aid in dying or euthanasia: Consequences for Quebec with
a comparison to Belgium.”
We invited
Dr. Georges Casteur, advisory board member of the Belgian Society of Medical
Ethics and Morality, to offer his observations on 11 years of legalized
euthanasia.
Dr. Patrick Vinay, of CHUM, will present Bill
52 in order to compare it with Belgian legislation.
This
symposium is open to the public. It will be followed by a General Assembly of
the Physicians’ Alliance, open
solely for the physicians of the alliance.
Both events
will take place on Sunday, June 8, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the Hotel-Dieu
auditorium, 3840 rue Saint -Urbain, Jeanne-Mance Pavilion, in Montreal. The
symposium will begin at 1:00 pm and the General Assembly at
3:00pm.
Conferences
will be held in French, with questions and discussions in both French and
English.
Concerned
citizens and doctors are very welcome.
